On December 22, 2015, Gyan Ganga International School (GGIS), Jabalpur celebrated the Grandparents' and Christmas Day on the astonishing theme ‘Indian Ethics’. The programme was organised in the school auditorium ‘Pravaha’ with the special guests - the grand parents of all tiny tots from classes Nursery to class III.
The programme started with the lighting of the lamp and praising goddess Saraswati for seeking her wisdom and blessings. Chairman of Gyan Ganga Group of Institutions Shri D C Jain and school principal Dr. Rajesh K Chandel graced the occasion with their graceful presence. As the programme was based on the theme ‘Indian Ethics’, the cultural presentation such as dances, songs, skit, and rhymes etc depicted the love, care and affection of the little ones for their grandparents and conveyed a strong message that elderly people are the backbone of Indian ethics and they are the ones who inculcate the precious values and ethics in the coming generations. They are the precious jewels who should be respected and taken care of. Each cultural presentation was dedicated to the grandparents and their importance in one’s life. The programme also included various game shows for grandparents which the elderly people thorougly enjoyed.
The tiny tots also enjoyed and celebrated the Christmas Day with their loveable grandparents. Speaking on the occasion, school principal Dr. Rajesh K Chandel expressed his gratitude and conveyed his heartfelt thanks to all the grandparents who were present on the occasion and had helped make the event a successful one. He also emphasised on the importance of elderly people in today’s world and in a family. He appreciated the staff members and the blooming buds who participated in the function and showcased their feelings and emotions towards their grandpa and grandma. In the end, sweets were distributed by Santa and Christmas songs were sung.
