On Monday, January 26, 2015 Gyan Ganga International School (GGIS) celebrated India’s 66th Republic Day with much aplomb. Students, teachers, teaching and non-teaching staff participated with much enthusiasm in the function. Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar Chandel and all four house Masters did the honours of hoisting the tri colour flag which was followed by the national anthem.
Student of class XI Miss Akansha Chourasia moved the gathering by revealing her thoughts through an expressive speech. She spoke on the values and ethics of India and how India achieved its freedom and republic status.
Speaking on the occasion, school principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar Chandel not only familiarised the students with the importance of the day but also emphasised on the duties and responsibilities of each and every Indian in every sphere of development whether it be technology, cleanliness, education, agriculture, economy, global warming or our relations with other countries. He also quoted the example of Indian leaders and freedom fighters who struggled for the present India. He motivated the students, the youth of the country, to work for their nation’s development be it directly or indirectly and try to contribute their shares in the form of good and responsible actions.
