On 2nd, May 2018 Wednesday, Gyan Ganga International School organized a workshop on, ‘Teaching Methodology & Attitude At work Place for PGT’s’, under the five days training programme from JSSC (1st May to 5th May 2018). The aim of organizing this workshop was make the teachers aware about the importance of various methodologies with different strategies for different level of students and to focus on the attitude of every teachers towards their subordinates and at their work place.
The resource person for this outstanding workshop was Dr. Sapana Zarwal (Child Psychologist) from Delhi. The programme started with the lightening of traditional Jyot of GGIS and worshiping Goddess Saraswati. The first phase of workshop started with the reciting of a poem which helped all the participants to make them energetic and full of zeal. The resource person highlighted the pious feel towards the profession of teaching. She focused on the attitude of the teachers and various problems that a teacher faces in their long professional journey.
The resource person made the workshop interesting by making it interactive. The second phase of the workshop was based on the different forms of teaching methodologies to be used in classrooms and their importance. The resource person highlighted o the role of a teacher as a facilitator and the mentor who guides a child and shows the right path. She focused on the two classifications of teaching approaches- Teacher Centered and Student Centered Approach of Learning.
The teachers, coordinators, head of the department from various CBSE schools found the workshop most beneficial and fruitful one. Nearly 70 participants from different schools made their knowledge crystal clear and participated enthusiastically. In the end the resource person was appreciated by each and every participants for making the topic more interesting and helping them to widen their knowledge beyond the limits. The school Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar Chandel expressed his heartfelt thanks to the resource person and felicitated her with a token of love and remembrance.
