Ajmera Global School (AGS) feels proud to take ek kadam swachta ki orr as a proud citizen of India. AGS principal Ms Hima Doshi believes that students lay the foundation of a strong nation. Keeping this in mind, she grabbed the opportunity to join prime minister Narendra Modi in his vision of Swach Bharat Abhiyan. On Saturday, November 15, along with 41 students of PYP 5 and 13 teachers took the initiative of Shramdaan towards Clean India with the support of the Brihanmumbai Mahanagar Palika (BMC).
The students of PYP 5 are getting geared up for their PYP Exhibition where one of their chosen issues of inquiry is civic sense. The most beautiful component of PYP is inculcating values and beliefs among our young learners to help them take appropriate action and grow as a responsible citizen. As a part of their action plan, the budding inquirers were delighted to be a part of Swach Bharat Abhiyan and were happy to even devote their weekend for it.
The entire team wearing gloves and masks, marched towards the school ground. Dividing themselves into small troops, they started from different corners and in a short span of time the ground was cleaned. Mr. Godse, senior executive engineer, BMC – Borivali-Kandivali ward, who was visiting the school ground for supervision was very happy to see the dedication of the young citizens. He said, “Children are the future of our country. If they choose the correct path, the adults will definitely get inspired from them.” At the end of the day, the students returned home with a sense of belonging towards the nation and a passion to sustain the cleanliness in their surroundings.
