On the 50th Children’s Day of India, which marks the 125th birth anniversary of Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru, SAI International School celebrated the day with euphoria to bring joy and laughter in the lives of SAIONEERS, the most cherished part of the SAI family.
The teachers brought a surprising twist in the day-to-day activities of the school by conducting the daily assembly and putting on acts that brought a huge smile on the children’s faces. The news that was announced - catering to the young children - was hilarious and made everyone burst into giggles. The teachers also put on an act where they play acted as students and put on dance performances for them. The main purpose of conducting a special assembly was to entertain the children and make them feel special and loved.
Apart from this, several other competitions and activities were organised in the school to mark the importance of this day. The senior students were also treated to a cultural performance and special round of performances.
On the occasion, Trustee, Smt. Silpi Sahoo, under whose motherly care the SAIONEERS are nurtured said, “Children’s Day is a day dedicated to Childhood, a day to celebrate the best years of human life. It is a day of tribute to the children of the world saying “Thank You” for making life look so beautiful, as they win over hearts with their pure and innocent smiles. However, under all the fun and frolic there remains a significant cause of marking the importance of education, recreation, health, cultural, economic and social needs for children.”
Chairman, Dr. Bijoy K. Sahoo said, “Children desire to be wanted, shown affection and appreciated. Quality education is a right of our children. It is unfortunate that many have still not seen the radiating light of education and there are hundreds who are devoid of the playful years of innocence. On the 50th Children’s Day I urge each one to pledge to eradicate child labor and illiteracy from our country and transform India into an educated land that acknowledges the inestimable worth of the little angels who will bring glory to our nation.”
