In Two Grade 10 IGCSE students of KiiT International School, Subham Chowhan and Sourav Mohanty, participated in the International Schools Video Competition 2014 (a Cambridge English Language initiative) in association with Singapore Airlines and National Australia Bank. The competition was supported by two prestigious Australian universities - Bond University and Curtin University. These students brought home laurels and were selected to be one amongst the top five finalists, on the topic Astronomy.
They had the privilege of receiving their certificates from Patrick Suckling - Australian high commissioner to India in New Delhi on November 11, 2014. They also interacted with other dignitaries like Angela French - director of operations (Cambridge English, University of Cambridge), Sarah Deveral (British Council), and Stuart Rees (Australian trade commission). Their entry was a three-minute video in English on exploration of future possibilities of human habitation outside the earth with the help of astronomy (study of celestial objects, space and time). They were assisted by their English teacher Ms Banashree Singh and were mentored by Ms Suprava Sahu (IGCSE coordinator) and Mr Bijoy Mathur, the project head.
