On May 18, 2018 Miles Bronson Residential School (MBRS), Guwahati signed up a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with TimesWorld Group to setup 1st All India Council for Robotics & Automation (AICRA) Certified Next Generation Robotics Lab (nxr) of North East in its premises. NxR is the most advanced Robotics Lab that follows the syllabus developed by AICRA. O, A and B level programmes are been designed for students from 5th standard to 12th standard. Throughout the academic year, students would learn programming and make various robotics projects. NxR facilitates school with all equipment as well as provides AICRA certified trainer support that takes care of training in school campus.
Students will be trained enough on various robotics projects so they can compete in national as well as International Robotics Championships to represent school. After completion of annual training, the members will be awarded certificates from “All India Council for Robotics & Automation (AICRA)”. NxR lab is a platform for students to integrate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) streams. It relates classroom concepts to real life developing an affinity towards technology, artificial intelligence and increase students’ motivation.
MBRS’s initiative in setting up an integrated STEAM Lab and global standard robotics programmes would help its all student to take the lead in current and upcoming technology era such as critical thinking, teamwork and problem solving in children of different age groups. It deserves mention that besides Robotics Lab, MBRS has recently also introduced other sophisticated world class laboratories of Life Skills, Quiz and Debate which are also unique and pioneering innovations in the region.
