There are myriad shortcomings of life in a developing city and one of this is traffic. Overwhelming traffic has become a part of one’s life these days but at the same time it could also be the reason for the loss of a person’s life. The emergency medical services take a major hit in case of such drawbacks. Realising the magnitude of the impact it may have on the citizens, students from TRIO World School (TWS) took to the streets to raise awareness on the importance of making way for the ambulance.
Over 50 TRIO students and teachers enthusiastically took part in the awareness drive and encouraged people to give way to ambulance during emergencies. The students even brought a white board where in they made the public to take an oath to make way for an ambulance. Following the oath taking, pledge cards and over 1000 stickers for cars were given to the public as a token of appreciation for their support. The students also created colourful placards and banners with key messages such as “Every Minute counts in an Emergency – Make way for the ambulance and Save Lives”, “I pledge to give way to ambulance” etc.
“We hear a lot about how campaigns such as green corridor which created a significant impact in saving lives. Similarly the students wanted to reach out to the masses and encourage them to save lives by giving way to the ambulance. It’s a very humble cause and we wanted to extend our full support by encouraging these youngsters. Raising alarm is only the first step but we hope it reaches out to everyone and will eventually make a difference in the society,” said Mr. Naveen K M, Managing Director TRIO World School.
