Lotus Valley International School, Gurgaon, participated in the 3RD CBSE International Life Skills, Values, Gender, School Health and Wellbeing Summit 2014, organised in collaboration with Expressions India. The three day international summit marked the culmination of activities organised during the regional summits in different parts of the country, and provided a platform to more than 161 CBSE schools to showcase their contribution to life-skills and air their views through the Youth Parliament.
Kaustav Sood, Sayasha Sharma, Varunavi Bangia and Aditya Jain from Lotus Valley participated in different activities organised during the summit. Events such as Interactive participatory Workshops, Health Exhibition, Youth Parliament, On the Spot Poster making Competition, Elocution, Theme Song, Thematic Jingle, Whiz Quiz provided the ebullient learners a platform to exhibit their creativity and enunciate their views on social issues. The participants were trained as Peer Educators and empowered to actively work towards a happy and meaningful student life and become responsible citizens.
In the Health Exhibition, Lotus Valley students elaborated the steps taken by the school to promote life skills, values, gender sensitivity, hygiene, health etc. and supported them with pictures and posters which had been displayed in the stall.
The school was awarded Special Recognition Award for outstanding performance in the theme song - Sur Sangeet at the international summit.
At the regional level, the school team bagged 2nd place in On The Spot Poster Making Competition and Special Appreciation for the Health Exhibition and Thematic Jingle; the certificates for the same were awarded by Mr. Vineet Joshi, CBSE chairman.
The summit offered a great platform to the learners to contribute towards social issues and awareness and helped nurture them as peer educators. The school principal, Mrs Anita Malhotra, applauded the efforts of the participants and exhorted them to actively promote life skills and values.
