Deakin University, Australia collaborated with NDTV to recognise top orators from schools across Delhi/NCR. The inter school debate competition was held in the NDTV studios on November 23 on the topic, ‘Only the Youth can change India’. Eshaa Wahie and Vrishti Misra of class XII represented Lotus Valley International School, Gurgaon.
The event saw students from prominent schools engaging in a battle of oratory prowess. This was followed by a final question round from the elite jury comprising of Dr. Amanda Dey, education counsellor, Australian High Commission, Natasha Jog, NDTV anchor and host, Professor Peter Hodgson , deputy vice chancellor, Deakin University and Ravneet Pahwa, associate vice president, global & executive director, South East Asia, Deakin University.
Eshaa Wahie bagged the Best Speaker Award against the motion and won a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and an entry to the national level debate. The Lotus Valley team was acknowledged and applauded for their clarity of thought, articulation and coherence of ideas.
