Lotus Valley International School, Gurgaon felicitated its meritorious students of class XII 2016-17 batch during a special ceremony hosted at the school premises recently. Mr Sandeep Khirwar, police commissioner, Gurgaon, renowned educationist and school patron, Dr. Shayama Chona and members of the School Managing Committee, Ms Jaspreet Kaur and Ms Sureena Uppal graced the occasion with their distinguished presence.
The principal, Ms Anita Malhotra, heartily welcomed the august gathering and congratulated the prize-winning students and their proud parents for their stupendous performance in AISSCE 2016-17.
A melodious rendition of the song Aashayein by the school choir filled the atmosphere with exuberance. Mr Khirwar and Dr. Chona felicitated the stream toppers Vanshika Sanghi, Udita Goel and Vidhi Agarwal with scholar certificates and a cash award of Rs.11,000 each. Madhur Dhupar who had secured a perfect 100 in Business Studies, along with Engila Khan, Tarinni Sameer Kakkar and Shefali Mayor, received a scholar certificate and plaque for showing an exceptional result consistently.
In his address, Mr. Khirwar stressed on the need to infuse the right values such as uprightness, devotion and hard work in today’s youth so that they contribute towards the nation’s progress. Dr. Chona encouraged the students to keep their dreams alive and accomplish goals by believing in themselves.
Students of the Middle School danced to the tune of Tagore’s timeless patriotic song Ekla Chalo Re before a rapt audience. The Legacy of Legends, a skit by the senior students that depicted the struggle of leaders such as Dr APJ Abdul Kalam who showed amazing pluck and staunch determination to overcome all odds, was greatly appreciated.
The ceremony concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Nanki Ahluwalia and Suryaditya Mor, the Deputy Head Girl and Deputy Head Boy.
