Students of Billabong High International School (BHIS) Noida, participated in the JUNKYARD WARS 2018, a one of its kind of event hosted by Oakridge International School, Mohali where young minds gathered to create working scientific models from junk.
The event had two rounds to the competition - Round 1 included Presentation of Own Science Model and Round 2 included Development of a Crane with pulley model. BHIS Noida learners of both junior and senior wings competed with gusto but only the senior students made it to Round 2.
In Round 2, the students were given a small workshop on how to make a crane with pulley model using the given material and later on, students were given a fixed time of hours to make a model and test it in the arena wherein they need to pick up small boxes with the help of their crane.
The event helped the children gain insights of learning implementations, team work, time management and how to organise work from beginning to end till showcase.
