The Jamnabai Narsee Alumni Association’s 21st edition of its annual inter-school cultural festival, Cascade was completed with resounding success. The first of its kind in the city, Cascade was incepted in 1993 by a few ex-students with a humble beginning of 10 schools. Twenty years later, the event is reckoned as the grandest festival of its kind, with almost 50 of Mumbai's top schools and over 5000 participants aged 5-17 all clustered in a plethora of 54 events ranging from dance, drama, music, singing, art, sports, debates, treasure hunts, fashion shows, personality contests and much much more. Today, this festival is a mega entertainment-and-competition extravaganza, besides being one of the largest inter-school festivals organized in the state.
This year, Cascade decided to give back to the society by collaborating with six NGOs that support causes ranging from animal protection to helping the underprivileged. PETA, Cry, Aseema, Project Play, Josh and Advaitya Foundation were the organizations which influenced the young minds at the event to be the responsible citizens of tomorrow.
The highlights of Cascade 21 were its highly anticipated events, Band Baja Bollywood where participants performed Bollywood musicals with acting, dancing and singing, and the Victorian Walk where the students walked the ramp showcasing their fashion styling skills.
The little ones mesmerized the audience as they took part in events testing their mental and physical skills – Hidden Expeditions, a treasure hunt and Hop-stacle where they went through various obstacles leading to the win!
Numero Uno, the showcase event of this Mega Fest lived up to its expectations and left everybody looking forward to next year’s Cascade, which promises to be bigger, better and grander.
