The significance of Ganesh Chaturthi lies in the way people attach themselves with all their love and faith to the care and pampering of the all-embracing Lord Ganesha. Lord Ganesha epitomizes wisdom and the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated with full religious fervour and devotion in the JIRS campus. On the 5th of September 2016, the Vasu Maha Ganapathi Temple was bedecked with hundreds of baskets of colorful flowers for the occasion, children dressed in their beautiful attires offered flowers at the feet of the lord. Pooja was carried out with Vedic mantras, Homas, archana and offerings of his favorite Modhak, puffed rice, sweets and jaggery. 

The campus echoed with vedic chantings and devotional songs dedicated to lord Ganesha. The chariot decorated with flowers and lord Ganesha’s idol adorned to the fullest was taken all around the school with gaiety, dancing and bursting of crackers. It was a day to cherish for the children who were fascinated and danced in total rhythm with the professional tribal drummers while “Ganapathi Bappa Maurya” echoed in the corridors. As the procession was being led for immersion, girls and boys danced their way amid bursting of crackers. The campus wore a festive look and the beautiful day ended with the immersion of lord Ganesha.
