In the final round of IRC League International held recently at the Dubai campus of BITS Pilani, teams from Blue Bells Public School, Gurugram, Indraprastha World School, Paschim Vihar Shri Ram School, Moulsari and Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram won titles in Junior, Middle and Senior categories.
25 teams from countries around globe participated in the IRC League International Championship this year. IRC International League is an initiative of Avishkaar Box, a pioneer in providing robotic kits solutions and in-school robotics programme for students.
In the Senior category, Blue Bells Public School and Indraprastha World School jointly formed a team called Robo Ace which emerged victorious with 180 points by defeating 6 teams in the final round from Dubai and Doha. Bot Builders formed by Shri Ram School secured No. 1 position in the Middle category with 2590 points by beating the teams from Colombo, Dubai and Maldives. The Junior category trophy went to Lotus Valley International School’s team Bot Squishers with 2260 points, leaving other teams from India, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Dhaka and Qatar behind.
Speaking on the occasion, Tarun Bhalla, founder & CEO, Avishkaar Box said, “It is a very proud moment for us to see teams from India dominating the IRC League International Challenge. This shows that if proper guidance and resources are provided to kids, they will be able to conceptualise, create and bring their ideation in practicality. We are thankful to the NITI Ayog and their Atal Tinkering Lab programme which enabled us in spreading the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programmes in schools at the early stage so that students can learn to innovate and work as a team”.
IRC Internationals was the culmination of IRC School League. More than 15,000 teams participated in the IRC League this year. After successfully conducting 8 seasons of IRC School League across India, the top selected teams were selected for the International Championship. IRC Internationals held at BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus. This year's theme of the IRC League International was to promote the concept of "R-ME (Robots in Missions and Expeditions)".
