'Premier De MDX Studios', an initiative by Middlesex University Dubai in association with MDX Studios debuted recently at Roxy Cinemas, City Walk.

For 'Premier De MDX Studios', the red carpet was rolled out for Middlesex University Dubai Film, Media and Communications Department's first-ever Student Cinema Showcase. Five third-year film students stood before the packed house to proudly unveil the fruits of their work: the films that represented the culmination of their three-year journey from apprentice to filmmaker.

With an impressive range of genres and stories that reflect the diverse sensibilities and personalities of the students who make up Middlesex Dubai's burgeoning Film, Media and Communications Department, the case was made that the art of cinema was alive and well, thriving in the state-of-the-art film studios housed in the heart of Knowledge Park!

Speaking about the event, Dr Cedwyn Fernandes, director and pro vice-chancellor of Middlesex University Dubai said, “I would firstly like to thank Roxy cinemas for providing the perfect platform to showcase the talents our students possess in filmmaking. It was an absolute pleasure to watch our students who have evolved into filmmakers of tomorrow. Watching their films on the big screen was a proud moment for me and the entire faculty at Middlesex University Dubai."

He further added, "We would like to wish our third-year students from the Film, Media and Communications Department the very best for their future endeavours as they enter the challenging and interactive world of filmmaking and storytelling."

The Film, Media and Communications Department at Middlesex University Dubai offers an exciting array of undergraduate courses including Film, Television, Advertising, Public Relations, Media, Journalism, Creative Writing and English Language. The recently launched MDX Studios with its state-of-the-art facilities is a post-production working space that enables students to become better storytellers, bringing their imagination to life.
