The newly-promoted Vapi (Gujarat) and Mumbai-based Mexus Education Pvt. Ltd, which recently entered the fast-growth K-12 education market after two years of deep research and development is relying on a slew of “killer apps” products and services the company has designed to establish itself as a heavyweight contender in school education. Conceptualised and designed by the company’s 300-plus-strong team of professionals, they include:
Iken Schools Ecosystem. A compre-hensive new ICT (information commu-nication technologies)-driven school management system designed as a one-stop solution to meet the teaching-learning, continuous evaluation, and administration requirements of K-12 institutions. The ISE package includes installation of ICT hardware, teacher training, page-by-page textbooks mapping service, digital content repository and management system, assessment and feedback solutions, a virtual school (brings parents, teachers, school administrators on one platform), enterprise resource planning software and consultancy and support features. Installed by the company on the BOOT (build, own, operate and transfer) model, it is designed for modular expansion. Per student fees: Rs.100-200 per month.
Iken Braingym. Promoted as India’s “first intelligent learning space equipped with state-of-the-art equipment” including a library, computer centre and play area furnished with educational kits, games and toys, the company’s five pilot Iken Braingym learning centres offer pre-school to professional development training programmes.
Iken Books. These are educational books for class I-VIII students which explain curricular concepts through the graphic/comic illustrations medium.
Iken Library. This is a curriculum-based library/collection of DVDs which facilitates supplementary self study. Educational content is pres-ented by way of animations, mind maps, slide shows and interactive quizzes enabling class I-X students to learn on their preferred medium.
Iken Joy. These are a collection of science education kits and toys which facilitate hands-on, experiential learning and the application of scientific principles.
Iken Pro. This self-study programme offers a wide range of short films presented in the DVD format on developing computer skills, grasping basic business concepts, developing life and soft skills and making career choices.
Iken Scientifica. Usually staged between the months of July and January, this is an annual hands-on science and technology competition organised by the company for children in the age group 10-14 years.
