EducationWorld-SportzVillage tie-up

Educationworld — the Human Development Magazine and SportzVillage — a Bangalore based NGO which promotes sports education, signed a partnership agreement to make sports an integral part of the education experience, on May 15.

Comments Saumil Majmudar, director, SportzVillage: "Success in adult life is significantly dependent upon key life-lessons learnt during extra-curricular activities like sports, music, arts etc. We believe regular sports activity makes children healthy and also helps them learn teamwork, leadership, learning how to lose or win well, goal-setting, determination and so on. We have seen great changes in the children who come to play at our first facility in HSR Layout, Bangalore. We are keen on taking our successful programmes to schools to help them to fully utilise their sports facilities and to provide sports services to the children of the school and the contiguous neighbourhood."

Through this partnership, EducationWorld and SportzVillage will work to promote participation in sports in Bangalore and other cities. This joint venture will attempt to develop an ecosystem for junior sports by increasing the number of facilities where children can play, improve awareness of various sports, highlight career opportunities in sports and offer coaching services and facilities. As a first step, the partnership will work with schools to help them optimally utilise their playgrounds.
