Srishti team invited for Microsoft Expo

A team of five students of the Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology, Bangalore has been selected to represent India in the 2008 Microsoft Research Design Expo this month (July), by Microsoft Inc, USA, the theme of which is ‘Learning and Education’. Srishti School’s project entitled ‘Moon Vehicle’ created an interactive user experience, drawing inspiration from the imminent Chandrayaan-1 moon mission of the Indian Space Research Organisation.

“Our students were challenged to design a user interface and/or interactive experience around this theme. The design teams which will participate in this year’s competition in Redmond will present projects on diverse topics such as the moon and space, satellite technology, myths, stories and narratives, innovative economic systems, games and toys, social networking, information technologies, and industrial ecologies,” says Dr. Geetha Narayanan founder-director of Srishti.

Among other institutions invited to the exposition on July 28-29 are the Rhode Island School of Design, Carnegie Mellon University, Techniche Universitiet Eindhoven (Germany) and the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing.
