The 21st century Genesis Global School (GGS), Noida (Delhi NCR) celebrated its sixth anniversary on November 7. Designed by internationally acclaimed design firms Team 3 Pte Ltd (Singapore) and Nostri Architects (Delhi) and spread over 30 acres on a strategic location on the Noida-Greater Noida expressway, this international day-cum-boarding school affiliated with the Delhi-based CBSE, CIE (UK) and IBO (Geneva) examination boards, has established a national reputation. In the EducationWorld India School Rankings 2015, GGS is ranked #6 all-India, #2 in Delhi and #1 nationally on the parameter of infrastructure. Promoted in 2009 by the Noida-based Wave Group, with a reported capital investment of Rs.265 crore, the school has developed into one of the country’s Top 10 international schools under the expert guidance of founder director-cum-principal Pramod Sharma, one of India’s most respected and experienced headmaster/principals. An alum of Gorakhpur University, Sharma began his teaching career in The Doon School in 1972 and acquired international teaching and professional administrative experience in Afghanistan, Nigeria and also in several reputed primary-secondaries in India including Tashi Namgyal Academy, Gangtok and Yadavindra Public School, Patiala. In 1996 he was appointed principal of the top-table Mayo College, Ajmer where he served for 12 years before taking charge as the founder-director of Genesis Global School in 2009.

Its spectacular, enabling infrastructure apart, Sharma prides himself for having assembled a high quality board of governors chaired by Bhure Lal (former IAS officer who exposed the Bofors scandal) and 130 carefully chosen and experienced teachers, providing the school’s 770 boys and 392 girl students an enviable 1:9 teacher-pupil ratio. Moreover, GGS takes special pride in its inclusive culture with 60 students supported by the learning support department’s dedicated special educators, speech and occupational therapists, learning in integrated, inclusive classrooms.

Undoubtedly the stand-out proposition of GGS is its state-of-the-art green campus and infrastructure. Its wifi-enabled campus includes 89 spacious, fully-wired classrooms; three computer labs and separate labs for physics, chemistry, biology, robotics, design technology, and a multi-media library with 8,746 volumes, 26 journal subscriptions and 89 e-learning resources. The school’s 270 boarders are housed in fully-equipped residences with ensuite rooms and modern housekeeping facilities.

For sports education, GGS offers students a 110,000 sq. ft multi-purpose hall with badminton, table tennis, basketball courts and gymnastics on the ground floor and the rest of the floors dedicated to squash, fencing, a gym, net-ball etc. Other facilities include an olympic size swimming pool, a 400 metre athletics track, three sports fields, a shooting range, golf driving range with putting areas, as well as a horse riding arena with a stable for nine horses. Co-curriculars include art and design, animation, dramatics, debates, music, robotics, cinematography, dance, photography, creative writing etc with dedicated spaces for these activities. Community service is also an important focus area for the GGS management. Under its CSR programme, the school supports the Wave Group-run Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan, a free-of-charge rehabilitation centre hosting 900 special needs children.

“Of 50 students who have graduated from our IB diploma programme, 12 have been accepted by reputed institutions of higher learning abroad and in India. Genesis Global School is a K-12 co-educational, residential school affiliated with the Delhi-based Central Board of Secondary Education, Cambridge International Examinations (UK) and International Baccalaureate Organisation (Geneva) examination boards.
Admissions commence on September 1 with the selection process for classes VI-XII comprising a written test followed by a personal interview.
