IGNOU student voices

IGNOU’s BCA (bachelor of computer applications) programme administered through local franchises/partners is excellent. The printed study material is concise and is delivered on time. Apart from this I accessed IGNOU’s video lectures on You Tube and the university website for updates — Jatin Gulati (27), a BCA graduate of IGNOU, currently employed with a BPO in Noida

I am simply amazed by the numerous media through which IGNOU delivers study programmes. While printed study materials and classes provided in study centres are important, I am enjoying learning through other media such as radio and television broadcasting, and two-way video conferencing. It’s for students to take advantage of the many learning platforms IGNOU offers us — Sharika Kaul (45), a Delhi-based government school teacher reading for a Masters in English

I’ve just completed a six-month diploma in BPO finance and accounts from IGNOU and found the study material and the lectures broadcast on Gyan Darshan television channel very useful. For this particular course IGNOU has a tie-up with IT major Accenture under which their senior executives deliver lectures — C. Nethiyanantham (23), executive assistant to director of IGNOU’s regional centre in Chennai

I opted to do a Masters from IGNOU because it has a reputation for quality, its tuition fees are very affordable, and its degrees are recognised by the government and private sector. However there is delay in evaluation of our assignments and hence the results get delayed — Syed Zabir Hussain, a Delhi-based sociology student
