The informed respondents polled to vote the most respected preschools in Gujarat’s most populous city have once again crowned EuroKids, Satellite #1 followed by The Tree House, Vastrapur, promoted from #7 last year
The ew ahmedabad preschool Rankings 2014 is dominated by franchisees and/or owned pre-primaries of well-known national ECCE (early childhood care and education) chains. The respondents polled by Delhi-based market research firm C fore in Gujarat’s most populous city (5.6 million), have once again crowned EuroKids, Satellite (estb. 2000) — a franchisee of the Mumbai-based 800 preschools-strong EuroKids International — #1 followed by The Tree House, Vastrapur, an owned pre-primary of the Mumbai-based 538 preschools-strong Tree House Education & Accessories Ltd. Third on the winner’s podium is Calorx Preschool, Maninagar (ranked #2 in 2013) — a franchisee of the local 14-preschools-strong Calorx Group.
Beula Canara, founder-principal of EuroKids, Satellite, is “excited and pleased” that the city’s informed public have ranked her preschool #1 for the second consecutive year, and top-ranked it on a record seven of ten parameters of ECCE excellence. “The credit should be given to our 24 innovative teachers, and to the solid support and advice we receive from the EuroKids head office in Mumbai. Our focus is on continuous improvement — whether it’s incorporating latest developments in ECCE, upgrading teachers’ skills through workshops or improving infrastructure and facilities. In the next few months, we will be upgrading our library to provide digital technologies,” says Canara, an alumna of Sambalpur University with an MBA from the Xavier Institute of Social Service, Ranchi and former teacher in the city’s Mount Carmel and St. Kabir schools, who promoted this pre-primary in 2001.
Ranked second in the EW Ahmedabad Preschool Rankings 2014 is The Tree House, Vastrapur, promoted from #7 in 2013, and awarded the highest score on the important parameters of safety and hygiene and parental involvement. “The Tree House curriculum is a unique blend of the playway and Montessori pedagogies with parents regularly updated about their children’s progress. Our #1 rank for safety and hygiene is well deserved because we have invested a lot of time and effort in training our personnel to incorporate safety processes and maintain excellent hygiene standards,” says Rajesh Bhatia, founder-managing director of Tree House Education & Accessories Ltd (estb. 2006). An alumnus of MS, Baroda and Pune universities, Mumbai-based Bhatia quit a successful career in investment banking to promote the first Tree House preschool in 2003.
Ahmedabad’s Top 5 table is completed by EuroKids, Vastrapur, ranked #4, followed by Shanti Juniors, Prahladnagar — a franchisee of the Ahmedabad-based Shanti Juniors which has 125 centres countrywide, and Calorx Preschool, Isanpur which has retained its #6 rank.
Further down the league table, there’s been a more radical reshuffling of seating with the previously unranked Vedant International School, Kankaria, debuting at #7 and KLAY Preschool, Satellite Complex (an owned preschool of the Bangalore-based VBHC Education Services, promoters of KLAY centres in Bangalore and Gurgaon) moving to #8 from #10 in 2013. Rangoli Preschool, Bopal (franchisee of Ahmedabad-based Rangoli which has 65 centres countrywide) has retained its #9 position while Olive Green Kids School, Navarangpura has debuted at #10.
