SAI International School celebrated International Youth Day with full fervour at Pal Heights on August 16, 2014 where the SAIONEERS took on the Anti-Bullying campaign. The students presented a skit depicting the repercussions of bullying and ragging that has become a daunting reality in the youth of today. The students aimed at spreading awareness among the crowd at Pal Heights to refrain from activities that can harm the dignity of an individual. The students also performed a flash mob and sang songs displaying the free spirited youth. The School Band brought in a lot of excitement with their wonderful and well-rehearsed ensemble.
A message urging to stand up against bullying was typed on cards and distributed. All those who had gathered at Pai Heights appreciated the campaign and cheered for the SAIONEERS. Principal Sri Harish Sanduja was present during the event and encouraged the youth to not forget that the future is in their hands and they should work hard because the country is offering them more opportunities.
“I am impressed with the initiative taken by SAI International School for taking up a campaign where the students have come out on the streets to spread awareness on an issue that is of great concern for us parents. The students have done a good job,” said one of the members of the audience who gathered at the site to witness the skit.
Youth can undoubtedly be change makers in thrust areas like promotion of national values, social harmony, national unity, education, health, sports and recreation, gender justice, participation in community service, environment and climate change issues and national & local government. Hence, the United Nations started observing the International Youth Day in the year 2000 to address the issues concerning the youth because youth is truly the hope of our future.
