SAI International School was extremely fortunate to have Revered Guruji Dr. Chandrabhnau Satpathy visit the campus on February 5, 2015. It was indeed providential for the staff and students as they offered prayers at his lotus feet and Guruji blessed the teachers and staff of the school with his divine presence. SAI International is a manifestation of Guruji’s blessings and faith in the principles of this institution which works on the tenets of ‘holistic parenting’ and aims at a synchronised development of the body, mind and soul of each student to nurture them as continuous learners with permanence. Revered Guruji has been a galvanising force behind the SAI International team and has always paved a way of righteousness for the teachers and students alike.
In a serene and enlightening rendezvous with the teachers, he asserted the meaning of education. He defined education as a combination of knowledge, skill and attitude. He said “Education is a process of history, through its cultural journey and updation as time requires. Education of today is past going to future.” He further sensitised the teachers on creating a platform for each student where they get an equal, right, maximum and optimum opportunity to do their best and put their best efforts. Guruji said, “Providing a platform for the students with the right conditioning will give a chance for them to work on their talents that may be latent at present but are discoverable tomorrow.”
Guruji also spoke about the essence of the work ‘guru’ and explained its connotations in a larger manner. He said, “As gurus we have to do value addition to our personality, conduct and teaching methodology to deserve the glorified and supreme title of being called ‘gurus’ and sustain it.” Sharing a true incident of his early life as a student, he spoke about the influence a teacher has on their students and elaborated on the nuances of a teacher-student relationship. He gave an insight to the teachers about how they should not treat all the students as equals, as each of them has a different psyche, different feelings, different ambition, different peer pressure, and different family backgrounds, hence requiring different kind of intervention.
Shri Guruji also captured the true essence of teaching in his words, “Keeping your hand on a bad student and making him/her a good student is a better job than concentrating on a good student who already comes prepared.” He stated that instead of declaring the students as good or bad it is primarily essential for the teachers to get to the root cause of the problem in a bad student. He said constant repetition and manifestation of positivity is required on a teacher’s part for the students to benefit and imbibe in themselves the positive points.
Blessing the institution, chairman Dr. B.K. Sahoo, trustee, Smt. Silpi Sahoo, teachers and staff, Guruji said, “Nature has the power to propel the future and just like the way the school grew into SAI International College of Commerce and Economics, the same will grow into SAI International University”. He blessed the team to flourish in their journey of bringing in a prolific change in the society and the world.
