Overview
Unison World School was established in April 2007. Situated on the picturesque Dehradun-Mussoorie road, in the beautiful locale of Kirsali Greens, Unison World School is an All Girls' Residential School. It has an idyllic setting, pristine surroundings, fine weather, a natural pollution free atmosphere and secure environment to satisfy the crucial needs for students to learn, observe, introspect and contemplate. Education in such an ambience is a rewarding experience – learning in these serene surroundings is a source of never ending inspiration for our young ladies. Its ‘state-of-the-art’ infrastructure and international staff and student fraternity, lend it a truly international ethos. The medium of instruction is English with the school admitting girls in grades V to XII.
Campus
Spread out aesthetically, the class rooms are spacious and well ventilated, with ample natural and artificial lighting. Ergonomically designed furniture, aided with the state-of-the-art technology in the form of Smart Class interactive boards and teaching aid displays, facilitate a modern, learning process. Each Smart Classroom has been designed to accommodate a maximum of 25 students to enable the teachers to give individual attention, to every student.
The school library is well-stocked with new books, comics, and novels, abridged and original books. The library functions on computer aided referencing system which enables students to locate books quickly and easily.
The campus provides state-of-the-art science laboratories to nurture the budding scientists. The school has a fleet of vehicles ensuring transport needs.
Accomodation
The School has four separate Chalets for Junior, Middle and Senior Students. Generally there are 4 to 8 girls in each dorm. Each floor of the Chalet has modern washrooms (toilet and bathing areas). Each Chalet provides an amiable atmosphere and a pollution-free environment, conducive to the mental, physical and spiritual development of the students which helps them to become self-reliant. The Chalet Incharge looks after the emotional needs of the students. The Dean of Pastoral Care is involved with all facets of a student’s residential life.
An Ultra-Modern Dining Area is equipped with the latest means of comfortable dining facilities. The ambience is unmatched with spacious serving areas. The dining hall is provides hygienic, nutritious and well-cooked food.
Academics
The School is affiliated to the Council of Indian School Certificate Examination for (ICSE/ISC). It is also authorized CIE for University of Cambridge International Examinations Curriculum (IGCSE). Its students have passed the Board Examinations of both the curriculums with flying colours by producing excellent results. The alumni of Unison World School are making waves in the institutions where they have gone to pursue their higher education.
Admission
The registration form for admission can be requested by the parent or candidate from the school’s administrative office and can also be downloaded online. The registration fee is ` 20,000 for Indian students and 500 USD for foreign nationality students.
After registration the candidate details are verified by the school administration department, following which the student is asked to appear for an entrance test. The final call on admission is taken based on the student’s performance in the entrance test.
Achievements
The School has achieved “FIVE STAR GOLD RATING” assessed and awarded by The Council for Standards and Education Reform, World Education Foundation, U.K. valid till December 31, 2018.
The School has been awarded the ISA (International School Award) by the British Council for three consecutive tenures; i.e. 2010-2013, 2014-2017 and 2018-2021. This programme has opened vistas for ‘Integrating International Dimension in Educational Curriculum’.
Unison World School has been also been appointed a ‘Lead School’ by “Tony Blair Face to Faith Foundation” and is an authorised provider of training to other schools in the programme. By means of video conferencing, students of different faiths work together to investigate specific global issues; discuss a range of opinions, values and beliefs; and explore the reasons for similar and different views-leading to a great understanding of the world and encouraging the attainment of the ideal: ‘Global Citizenship’.
