Overview
Established in 1980, TA Pai Management Institute, popularly known as TAPMI is a prominent B-School located in Manipal, Karnataka. It was founded by Shri T. A. Pai with an aim to achieve excellence in management education, research and practice. It is the second B-School in India to receive the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation after the Indian School of Business.
The institute started offering the PGDM programme in 1984 as a two-year fully residential programme under a separate TAPMI trust and it also started a PGDM (Healthcare) programme in 2010. Both programmes have been approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
Campus
The institute campus sprawls over 42 acres at a distance of about 5 km from Manipal. The campus features a built-up area of 2,50,000 sq ft with wi-fi enabled air-conditioned classrooms, offices for faculties and staff, a knowledge centre, seminar halls with video conference facility, ICT-enabled infrastructure, hostel, clinic and bank/ATM. It also has a fully air-conditioned state-of-the-art library stocked with books, periodicals, journals and electronic databases.
Accomodation
TAPMI offers separate hostels for men and women with double rooms, single rooms, ac and non-ac rooms.
Academics
TAPMI offers following academic programmes:
Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM):
It is a two-year full time residential programme accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
Post Graduate Diploma in Management—Healthcare Management (PGDM-HCM):
It is also a two-year full time residential programme aimed towards the healthcare management sector.
e-Governance Programme for Executives (eGPX):
It is offered as a one-year full time residential programme in collaboration with the National Institute for Smart Government, Hyderabad.
Continuous Learning Programmes:
These programmes are composite and flexible and the time duration is based on the business organizations requirement. Executive Education Programmes, Faculty Development Programmes, Blues Ocean Strategy are some of the course offered.
Other Programmes:
The other programmes offered are the Fast-track Certificate Programmes and Masters in European Studies and Management offered by Manipal University in association with TAPMI.
Admission
PGDM and PGDM-HCM, both programmes have two-stage process for admitting candidates. CAT/XAT/MAT examination scores are mandatory pre-requisites to qualify for the admission process comprising group discussion, case analysis or personal interviews. Final selection is based on overall performance in the TAPMI admission process.
Fees
The current academic fee for PGDM is Rs.9,90,000 and for PGDM-HCM it is Rs.9,50,000 which comprises fee for tuition, admission, establishment, academic resource, course material, medicare and alumni association.
