Overview
Run by the Springdales School society in New Delhi, the Springdales School Dhaula Kuan branch opened in 1984. The co-educational private school is a member of the National Progressive Schools' Conference and was ranked seventh among day schools all India in the Education World-C fore Survey 2012 - India School Rankings.
Springdales epitomises vibrancy and freshness, dovetailing much of the ethos of the new post-independence India into its educational program and philosophy. Privately managed, the school is a secular co-educational one integrating into its curriculum concern for the environment, the spirit of community service and international peace and brotherhood. The school integrates concepts of environmental concern and community service into their academic curriculum for the student’s overall development.

Campus
Apart from spacious classrooms and playgrounds, the school has fully functional facilities for each department, with maths and science laboratories, a computer resource centre, well equipped libraries, an auditorium, open-air stage and a teachers’ learning centre.
A multipurpose air-conditioned auditorium with seating capacity of 750 caters to most of the school programs. A multilingual laboratory – electronically fitted for teaching English, French, Spanish and Russian is also a feature of the school.
The school has a well stocked and aesthetically designed library with internet connection & networking for the senior school; reading room-cum-library for juniors is also provided.
Teachers’ learning centre is also provided for the professional growth of the faculty with hi- tech computers, networked with internet connection and plasma screen for projecting information during workshops for teachers.
Specially designed art studios at all levels and centre of dance and music (vocal and instrumental) offer an excellent space for honing the young kids’ skills.
Play fields catering to different sports and different levels of students including courts for tennis, basketball and grounds for football, cricket, taekwondo, skating rink, and facilities for swimming in a pool of international specifications.
Academics
The school offers pre-primary to XII and is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It follows a no-examination policy for students up to class VIII, using grades instead of marks. Besides English, which is the medium of education, a variety of languages are taught, including Hindi, Sanskrit, Spanish, French, German and Russian.
Extra Curricular:
Springdales encourages its students to participate in a multitude of extra-curricular activities. It also offers a teachers’ resource centre, a holiday home for its students and faculty in Mussoorie and a work-experience farm at Chattarpur where children are taught the dignity of labour and working with the soil and community living. Sports facilities include basketball, football, tennis, basketball, athletics, table tennis, and special coaching for swimming, cricket, skating, gymnastics, karate and taekwando. The students participate in music, dance, drama and debate competitions as well. The school itself hosts many contests in the field of poetry recitation, quizzing and science symposia during the school year.
Admission
The school takes in children under the various categories. It has reserved seats for the economically weaker section of the society, students of staff etc. In the general category 63 seats are available which accounts to 46% of the total seats for a class.
The criteria for selection the children are in accordance with the guidelines given. There will be no interviewing or screening of children or their parents. The whole process is fair and rational, non-discriminatory, transparent and child-friendly. Admission will be based on the information given and will have to be backed by authentic proofs with documents attached to the form when submitted. Information regarding parents’ professions and educational qualifications will not form a part of the admission criteria. It will be used only for school data processing.
The school also has a well recognized integrated special needs program for the differently – abled children. A special needs centre is in operation at the school. To be eligible for the integrated program parents must attach authenticated documents related to the disability and a certificate that the child is ready for entry to mainstream education.
