Overview
Ryan International School (RIS), Vasant Kunj, New Delhi began operations on March 3, 1991. The objective of the school is to provide excellence in education and all round development. It is part of the Ryan International Group of Institutions (RIGI) which comprises 133 schools with an aggregate enrolment of 200,000 students.
RIS, Vasant Kunj is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education and offers nursery to class XII education. Focus is on delivering holistic education with equal attention paid to academics and extracurricular activities including art, debating, scientific engineering, sports, community interaction and social sensitization. Students are also encouraged to participate in a number of international school events such as the International Children’s Festival of Performing Arts, The Indian Model United Nations, among others, organized by RIGI.
Campus
The school campus located in Vasant Kunj offers well-ventilated classrooms. The library is well organized and stocked with books for all age groups. The collection consists of course books, reference books, story books, journals, audio-visual aids etc. The spacious science labs include separate physics, chemistry and biology labs.
The school has 2 computer labs, each well equipped with 25 computers offering high speed broadband internet connectivity. The home science lab is fully equipped with a cooking range, microwave, refrigerator, and hot plates.
The school’s air conditioned auditorium boasts a seating capacity of over 500 students. There are rooms for art and craft, vocal music, dance, instrumental music. The school also offers activities such as taekwondo & Yoga. The preschool offers a well-equipped playroom.
The school also hosts a covered amphitheatre with a capacity of more than 3000 students. A medical room with a qualified nurse is available full time to provide first aid.
The school offers facilities for sports and games such as basketball, volleyball, lawn tennis, cricket, football, volley ball, roller skating and athletics. Yoga and aerobics are a regular feature of the physical training. There are also 2 swimming pools on campus.
Academics
RIS, Vasant Kunj is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education and offers nursery to class XII education. The Montessori method of education is followed in preschool. In primary, middle and secondary school focus is placed on learning through exploration and hands-on learning. CBSE’s continuous and comprehensive evaluation (CCE) is followed.
Extracurricular:
Students involve in socially useful and productivity work like gardening, interior decoration, Math club, computer club, environment club, art and craft, clay modelling, cooking, skating, aerobics, yoga, needle work, dance and music.
