Overview
Pumpkin House, Sushant Lok, Gurgaon was founded by Deepa and Batush Pal on September 1, 2003 with a belief that only great ideas and innovation can change the future of education. Pumpkin House is supported by a team of eminent personalities from the field of education, dance, fine arts, music and theater to make learning fun and challenging for children. The school’s association with eminent personalities from all walks of life and their interaction with children guide the school to achieve its vision.
Pumpkin House offers child oriented and teacher facilitated curriculum to ensure all round development of the child.
Campus
Spread across 1200 square feet, the preschool houses bright, colourful and air-conditioned class rooms. Learning is conducted outdoors as well; the preschool also hosts a doll room, activity room, dining room, play pen and swimming pool. It hosts a clean and hygienic environment and policy for contagious diseases is clearly laid out.
Academics
The preschool believes that play and learning go hand in hand, each building on the other and together they help children develop socially, emotionally, physically and academically. Learning happens very easily when there is an emotionally safe and rich, stimulating environment.
The preschool encourages individual and team based learning with the help of activities like singing, puppetry, storytelling, drama and role play, music and movement, story time, yoga, art and craft for teaching various concepts. Visits and educational field trips to doctor’s clinic, fire station, post office, mother dairy, super market, botanical gardens, transport museum etc are also conducted.
The preschool conducts daily continuous assessment of each child’s progress and shares with the parents on a regular basis. Regular progress reports are handed out at the end of each session.
Admission
The preschool admits children from the age of 12 months; the various programs offered at Pumpkin House are:
12 months to 2 ½ years – Lollapalooza (A unique mom and tots program)
18 months to 2 years - Bunnies (Toddlers)
2 years to 2 ½ years – Bambies (Playgroup)
2 ½ years to 3 years - Teddies (Junior pre-nursery)
3 years – Giraffes (Senior pre-nursery)
4 years - Nursery
5 years – Kindergarten
