Overview
Pathways World School, Noida is one of the two new schools launched in 2010 under the Pathways schools umbrella. It boasts of being the first and currently the only IB World School in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The school is located in Sector 100 in Noida, just 8 km from the DND Flyway, which provides easy access to Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad. The school is located on a 10 acre site. The campus is environment friendly and hosts world class academic and sports infrastructure.
Campus
The 10 acre campus houses bright, well ventilated classrooms equipped with ICT (information and communications technology), interactive whiteboards and projection screens, science laboratories equipped with state of the art research industry standard laboratory equipment, besides studios for dance, music and theatre. The school also provides atriums that serve as knowledge centers for students and teachers. It has an amphitheater with a seating capacity of more than 1,000. The library cum media center hosts a wide range of books and online resources, and provides storytelling corners.
The school also offers quality sports infrastructure which includes an Olympic size soccer field, cricket pitch and practice nets, synthetic tennis and basketball courts, athletics, golf putting area, horse riding, half Olympic size all weather swimming pool, glass squash courts, pool/billiard, gymnasium, chess, carom, yoga, aerobics and gymnastics.
Accomodation
Pathways is a residential and day boarding school. Students from all parts of India and abroad can enroll as full term/weekly/day boarders.
Academics
The school is affiliated with the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO), Geneva, offering the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) from pre nursery through grade V, and the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) for grades XI & XII. It is also affiliated with the UK based Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) offering the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) programme for grades IX & X. The Pathways Middle School Programme (MYP) is delivered for grades VI to VIII.
There is also a Special Education Needs (SEN) Department which acts as a fully fledged support system, catering to the needs of students who are slow learners or suffer from learning disabilities.
Extracurricular:
Pathways World School, Noida encourages participation in various co-curricular and extracurricular activities such as music, dance, arts and sports such as athletics, basket ball, cricket, football, horse riding, swimming, aerobics, gymnastics, table tennis and golf. Educational and adventure camps are also organised.
Admission
Application forms can be downloaded from the school website. Primary school candidates are examined by the primary section head during an oral interaction. The child may also be asked to participate in 'simple activities'. Candidates for grades VI to IX must write an examination based on Basic English and mathematics plus clear a oral test. For grade IX, students will also be assessed on integrated science (physics, chemistry and biology). Students are taken into grade X only if they are transferring from a similar school and their admission is based on reports from their existing school and an interview and test. Admission to grade XI is by oral interview and written tests in English and Mathematics. In grade XII only transferring IB Diploma Students are admitted.
Parents can register at any time during the year for admission in the current year and would be interviewed whenever a place is available. On being offered a place parents will be given two weeks time to pay the admission fee (if the student is not joining immediately) and security deposit to secure the place. No student shall be allowed to attend classes unless an ID number has been generated after receipt of fees.
Fees: For resident Indians, yearly composite school fee is Rs 67,000 to 115,000, for NRIs minimum yearly fee is Rs 81,000 and maximum is Rs 140,000.
