Overview
Established on August 1, 1945 with sixteen children, New Era High School has grown into a leading international educational institution. It is supervised by the New Era School Committee trust and under the guidance of the National Spiritual Assembly of Baha’is of India.
Since the establishment of the school, the diversity of the student body with over 800 students coming from 25 countries, various states of India and diverse religious backgrounds, ensured that children learn to appreciate and respect all beliefs, cultures and nationalities. The school endeavored over the years to exemplify Baha’u’llah’s teaching, “… the earth is but one country and mankind its citizens.”
Campus
The school campus is around 20 acres with a priceless view of Chickly Valley, the Krishna River and surrounding mountains. The facilities includes eight dormitories, largest of which is set apart for girls, the health centre, two dining halls, a metal fabrication, workshop, an amphitheater and an audio-visual centre. The science labs include separate physics, chemistry and biology labs. There are two classroom buildings, vocational workshops, three libraries and computer departments. There are two sports fields and two outdoor basketball courts.

The hostel facilities includes eight dormitories, largest of which is set apart for girls.
Academics
New Era High School follows the curriculum of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) New Delhi. The subjects taught at primary level are English, mathematics, science, social science, with Hindi and Marathi as the second languages. The latest syllabus as per NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training) is followed.
New Era School follows the latest methodology of teaching with use of smart boards which makes the learning and teaching process interesting.
At the secondary level, New Era High School has a mix of students from India and abroad. The total strength of the secondary section is 493 out of which 328 are boys and 165 girls. The international students are from countries like USA, UAE, Nepal, Mauritius, UK, Madagascar, Indonesia, South Africa, Bangladesh, Lebanon, Oman, Thailand and France.
Admission
New Era High School follows the CBSE board syllabus with classes from standard I to X. The new admissions are open for standards I, II and VI only.
The application forms for standard XI can be downloaded from school’s website.
The school also offers International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) of the University of Cambridge International Center, which is a two years programme. The student may opt for CBSE or IGCSE syllabus after completing his/her eighth standard.
The admissions for class XI begins after 15 April. The admission is on first come first serve basis.
