Overview
Mother’s Public School, Bhubaneswar was established as ‘Prakrit’ in 1991 by Mrs. Poly, the founder and mentor of the school. It is an English medium, co-educational day boarding school affiliated to the CBSE. It was the first day boarding school in Bhubaneswar, and was a boon for working mothers as children could stay back after school hours.
The school started with 20 students enrolled in pre nursery to class IV. Now it provides education to 1,800 students from pre-nursery to class XII.
The school focuses on providing a ‘mother’s touch’ to the educational experience of its students.
Campus
The school offers modern infrastructure, state-of-the-art classrooms and well-equipped science and computer labs.
Facilities for cricket, football, basketball, volleyball and table tennis are provided. Indoor space is available for chess, music, dance and public speaking.
Academics
The school is affiliated to CBSE and provides education from pre nursery to class XII. It follows the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system mandated by CBSE. In the senior secondary level (classes XI and XII), two streams are offered — science and commerce. In the science stream, there are three options — general, engineering and medical.
The school also offers coaching facilities for medical and engineering education aspirants.
Extracurricular
Co-curricular activities include elocution, debate, quiz, music, dance, drawing, story-telling, public speaking and yoga. Sports and games include cricket, football, kabaddi, basketball, volleyball, table tennis and chess.
Students can also be a part of the Health Club, Interact Club of Rotary, Eco Club or the Music Club. They can join the NCC too.
