Overview
Modern School, Shalimar Bagh, Delhi is a coeducational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. Promoted in 1971 by the Modern Public School Education Society, the school offers education till class XII.
Campus
The 2 acre school campus hosts smart classrooms, a well stocked library, an auditorium, seminar room, conference room and well equipped labs for physics, chemistry, biology, language, math and two computer labs. The school also houses an audio visual room, book and uniform shop, infirmary and canteen.
Accomodation
Being a day school, Modern School, Shalimar Bagh, Delhi does not offer accommodation facility.
Academics
The school offers the latest teaching techniques with excellent facilities for co-curricular and sporting activities, making it an ideal platform for physical, mental, emotional and spiritual growth of the children.
For classes I to VIII, formal education system is introduced using the NCERT syllabi. Art, craft, yoga, karate, music, computers, dance, etc. are however, integrated in the curriculum for the overall development of the child's character and personality. Sanskrit/French is offered as a third language for classes V to VIII, under the three language formula of NPE.
Classes IX to XII follow CBSE syllabus.
In classes XI and XII, the school offers three streams - Science (medical and non medical), Commerce and Humanities.
Admission
Registration forms for admission can be downloaded from the school website (www.mpsshalimarbagh.com). Duly filled up form can be submitted at the school counter on payment of requisite charges on all working days from the last week of December to the first week of January between 9.00 am and 1.00 pm.
There are 140 seats for general category and 40 reserved seats; reservation of seats may vary based on the admission of students.
Selection is done by draw of lots.
