Overview
Manthan International School, Hyderabad is a coeducational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), UK. Started in 2009 by Ramakrishna Reddy, the school is promoted and run by a group of professionals with a passion for education.
The school aims to build socially aware and responsible citizens and the vision of the school is to provide all round education, nurture a child’s innate curiosity and help the child achieve excellence.
The school has two campuses - Manthan Madhapur campus that offers education from Junior KG to class VII and Gachibowli campus started in June 2014 with classes from nursery through class XII.
Campus
The Madhapur campus (which houses the pre-primary and primary sections) hosts well ventilated and air conditioned class rooms connected to internet through a central server and equipped with projector and interactive boards, the school has dedicated areas for art, craft, music and dance, well stocked library, well equipped science lab, math lab and computer lab, theatre and canteen. The campus also houses a synthetic play area for playing various games, a gymnasium and courts for throw ball, volley ball, tennis and basket ball.
The Gachibowli campus is planned over a 5 acre plot and offers amenities such as library, art studio, craft room, music room, clinic, canteen, staff-rooms and class rooms to house about 800 students.
Accomodation
Being a day school, Manthan International School does not offer accommodation facility.
Academics
At the primary level, the school follows the syllabus prescribed by CBSE but its teaching methodology, assessments, lesson plans and teacher training are as per Cambridge International Primary Program (CIPP) of University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). In classes IX and XI, the school offers choice of International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and CBSE curricula.
The school follows an interdisciplinary approach for the primary school with a single teacher taking all the classes except for the specialised activities such as dance and music, art and craft and languages. In higher classes, specialist teachers teach more subjects so that the required specialisation can be achieved.
Admission
The Madhapur campus admits children from junior KG to class IV. Admissions to classes V to IX are available only at the Gachibowli campus. For admission, parents need to visit the school along with the child and fill up the application form. This is followed by an informal assessment of the child by the class teacher and a formal meeting of the parents with the head of the institution. The whole process can be completed in a day.
After class IV, the students from Madhapur campus move to Gachibowli campus.
Age Criteria:
Junior KG: between 3.5 and 4.5 years
Senior KG: between 4.5 and 5.5 years
Class I: above 5.5 years in June.
