Overview
Named after Vijay Mallya – the UB Group chairman and member of parliament – Mallya Aditi International School (MAIS), Bangalore was established in 1984 conceptualised by the Ujwal educational trust, led by well-known educationists Anne Warrior and Geetha Narayanan who over the past 28 years have changed the conventional norms of teaching, putting in place an integrated system of learning.

Campus
Sited on a five-acre campus in the suburb of Yelahanka, the school boasts an architectural award winning building designed to give students maximum space and proximity to nature. MAIS provides two well-equipped libraries with a stock of 15,000 titles, five science laboratories, a technology hub apart from three computer labs.

Academics
MAIS offers preparatory to class XII children many study options. Students of classes IX and XI can opt for qualifications (ICSE at class X and ISC at class XII) offered by the Council of Indian School Certificate Examinations or the Cambridge International Examinations, Cambridge (UK) which offers IGCSE in class X and AICE in class XII.
Students of preparatory to class VIII follow a carefully structured curriculum which is designed and edited by teachers and constantly renewed and revitalised.
The University of Chicago’s school math program titled Everyday Mathematics is also offered to elementary school students.
Extra-curricular: MAIS encourages the exploration of a host of visual and creative arts such as film, dance, drama, photography and music through its innovative creative arts department. The school campus is dotted with creative spaces apart from hosting an arts studio, dance and drama rooms, music rooms, an amphitheatre and open courtyards. The school also promotes an effective physical education and fitness programme in the middle and high schools. Children are also taken on field trips, hikes, treks and nature walks and community service is also encouraged.
Admission
Admissions are based on an entrance test and interview. Students of class IX can opt for either ICSE or ICGSE programmes. Overseas applicants can request for the entrance test paper to be sent to the principal of his/her current school. Application forms are available (both in school and on the school website) in December. The date of the entrance test is published on the application form.
Students of class XI can opt for either the ISC or AICE/A-Level programme. Admissions are based on the student's academic and extra-curricular record and an interview. The school reserves the right to conduct an entrance test in one or more subjects.
Admission to other classes will be considered only if vacancies arise. Application forms for prospective vacancies will be available in the school office from September. Please note that only a limited number of application forms are issued. Cost of the application form is Rs.1,000.
The school welcomes prospective students and their parents to visit the school after making an appointment.
