Overview
M.P. Birla Foundation Higher Secondary School is a co-educational, English medium day school, sited at James Long Sarani in Behala, Kolkata. The MP Birla Group, the philanthropically inclined branch of the Birla family, founded it in 1988. With an enrollment of over 3600 students, it maintains a high teacher-student ratio for enhanced and interactive learning. It is affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi.

Campus
M.P. Birla Foundation H.S. School is sited at James Long Sarani in Behala, Kolkata and offers a clean and green environment away from the din and bustle of the city.
The school hosts bright and airy classrooms, huge playgrounds for outdoor sports and leisurely play, and world class infrastructure for sports such as football, volley ball, cricket and basketball. The school also offers an air-conditioned auditorium, which is also used as an assembly hall.

Academics
M. P. Birla Foundation School is affiliated the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi (CISCE), better known as the ICSE board, and has classes up to the XII standard. Courses in science and commerce are offered at the secondary and higher secondary levels. The school believes in adopting a pleasurable approach towards academics for optimum results.
Extracurricular: Alongside academics, focus is given on non-scholastic activities as well for overall development of the students. Budding talents are effectively channelized though varied courses with a professional touch, including photography, dramatics, art and craft, public speech, dance, yoga and kickboxing.
The school runs a registered altruistic club, called ‘Sparsh’ that is governed by a group of senior students from the school. This club proactively arranges visits to hospitals and old age homes, organizes donations for slums, raises relief funds for calamity hit areas, etc. The annual inter-school basketball tournament, ‘Hoops’, organized by this club is the talk of the town every year.
