Overview
Little Scholars, Sarat Bose Road, Kolkata is a well known preschool which follows the Montessori Method of Early Childhood Education (ECE). The school’s holistic and child-centred philosophy offers children a full preparation for their lives ahead, with attention to all facets of their development.
The schools mission is to nurture and develop each child to their fullest potential physically, intellectually, socially, creatively and emotionally.
Academics
Playhouse - Children in the 1 to 2 year age group are eligible for this program. Activities in this program include songs and rhymes, actions, puppets, pictures and simple stories. The aim is to foster language development, basic motor co-ordination and independence in children.
Montessori classrooms - Montessori classrooms focus on following areas -
Sensorial - Children learn about their world by comparing, sequencing and matching different heights, lengths, weights, colours, smells, shapes and textures.
Maths - Children learn various concepts of maths using concrete materials. These activities develop a deeper understanding of the concepts, allowing children to progress towards the learning of more abstract concepts.
Language - In language classes children learn oral language, vocabulary, self-expression, reading and writing.
Cultural subjects - cultural subjects include wonderful puzzle maps, examples of land formations, botanical displays such as leaf cabinets and simple scientific experiments.
Creative development - Children learn to explore sound, colour, texture, shape, form and space through art and craft, drama, role play and music.
Extra-curricular activities:
Besides academics, Little Scholars offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities such as art and crafts, computers, storytelling, cooking, sports, water play, baby yoga, music and movement.
Admission
Parents can obtain application form from the school reception or school website. Admission depends on the availability of seats. The school's academic session commences in April.

Montessori 1st Shift 08:30 AM – 12:30PM
Montessori 2nd Shift 11:00 AM – 02:00PM
