Overview
Founded in 2006 by Khushroo Rustumji, Kara4Kids, Indiranagar offers learning environment for children aged between 6 months and 6 years. Kara4Kids was set up after three years of intensive research on the best practices in early childhood education adopted in the UK, US and Italy and its health and safety guidelines are as per guidelines set by UK Government.
The school has obtained affiliations from Karnataka Council of Preschools – India, Pre-School Learning Alliance - UK, British Association for Early Childhood Education – UK, Alliance for Childhood - UK and USA and Association for Childhood Education International - USA.
Campus
The preschool hosts colorful and warm classrooms with child friendly furniture; there is an activity area, dining area, jungle gym, indoor play area and an outdoor play area.
All its learning resources use lead free paint only, are age appropriate, child friendly and conform to international standards of safety. The preschool uses safety mats in all play areas and all students are provided with ID cards.
The preschool’s child: area ratios is 1:50 square feet (as against industry standards in India = 1:6 square feet) and members of faculty are trained in Pediatric CPR, first aid and crisis/fire management.
Academics
The preschool follows a multi-sensorial approach to teaching imparted through an emergent, theme-based curriculum. The preschool’s faculty is professionally qualified, Kara certified early years’ specialists with experience in teaching and childcare at national and international levels. According to a spokesperson the preschool respects the ideas, potential and values children bring to school and make them feel valued, safe and nurtured and lessons revolve around small groups of children each working with their teacher on open-ended themes and projects. The preschool also aims to create a homely environment by including parents in all areas of learning and establish relationships based on trust.
Kara4Kids boasts a curriculum that is designed to meet the needs of pre-primary children entering a wide range of schools and educational systems, both within India (ICSE, CBSE and NIOS), and abroad (IGCSE and IB).
Admission
Parents can visit the school website and submit an enquiry form and simultaneously set an appointment with the preschool and arrange for a visit to the campus on weekdays as well as weekends.

According to the chairman, Khushroo Rumtumji Kara4Kids (both branches – Indiranagar and HSR Layout) has nearly 250 children supported by 80 adults which is highest child-adult support ratio in the country.
