Overview
Established in 2006, the Heritage School, Jammu, is sited on scenic campus offering state-of-the-art infrastructure, including well-equipped laboratories, a skating rink, amphitheatre, and a half-Olympic size swimming pool.
The co-educational English medium day school was promoted by the late Srimati Dhanwati Dev, under the aegis of the Dhanwati Memorial Trust. Heritage School is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education and offers education from kindergarten-class XII.
The objective of the school is to help students, “develop a mind-body connectivity influencing them to realize that there is more to the world than just material things. “
Campus
The campus is located on 9 acres of land. All classrooms are spacious and well-ventilated. Campus facilities include computer, math, science and phonetics laboratories and a library with a huge stock of books. An amphitheatre, multipurpose hall, activity room, music room, dance room and audio-video room are also provided.
Sports facilities include a skating rink, basketball, handball and tennis courts, football and cricket ground and a half-Olympic size swimming pool.
Academics
The school provides education from class I to XII. As recommended by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the school follows the CCE (continuous and comprehensive evaluation) system from classes I to X.
There are three streams at the senior secondary level — non-medical, medical and commerce.
A value-based approach is followed in all teaching-learning with academic excellence is given priority.
Extracurricular
The school offers co-curricular activities like music, dance, art and craft, quiz, debate and elocution. Students are given opportunities to participate in various sports such as football, cricket, basketball, handball, swimming, skating, table tennis and lawn tennis.
Admission
Heritage School, Jammu admits students from kindergarten to class XII. Admission to classes pre nursery, nursery, LKG and UKG are on the basis of interaction. For class I to class XII, students are required to write an admission test. No candidates are allowed to appear for an entrance test without valid registration in the school.
