Overview
Green Dot Montessori, located at Hosur Road in Bangalore, is a member of the Green Dot Montessori chain of preschools spread across Bangalore. The preschool hosts an environment of a miniature society in which children live and work co-operatively. The school aims to provide a safe and nurturing environment and help children develop into well-rounded individuals. The school maintains teacher student ratio of 1:12.
Campus
The school hosts well-ventilated and spacious classrooms, well equipped and beautifully designed play area with modern play-equipments and a rich supply of Montessori apparatus for each area of development. Teachers are trained and certified in Early Childhood Education and Montessori Method. The school also provides transportation facility.
Academics
The school follows the Montessori method of education and caters to the educational needs of Toddlers, Montessori level 1, 2 and 3 children.
The emphasis is on the following areas -
Practical Life: The aim is to help the child develop independence, concentration, self-esteem, confidence and co-ordination of movements.
Sensorial: The sensorial materials are designed to refine all the senses which helps the child gain confidence and self assurance.
Language: The emphasis is on development of language; from listening to stories, verbally expressing experiences and creative writing.
Numbers and Mathematics: Children learn the concepts of numeration, place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and are introduced to the decimal system.
Music and Art: Along with the regular Montessori Program, children are introduced to music and art through group presentations. Art programmes include activities such as cutting with scissors and pasting, exploring different textures and materials.
Working on themes and physical education are also the part of the school curriculum.
