Overview
Promoted in 1995 by M Srinivasan under the aegis of GEAR foundation, The GEAR innovative international school at Bangalore is a futuristic school affiliated with Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and catering to children from kindergarten to class XII. The school follows the CIPE (Creative, Inventive and Productive Excelment) model of education that incorporates effective ideas, activities and programs from different parts of the world.
The main objective of the school is “to promote balanced development, help integrate knowledge, skills and values, enable multidisciplinary, thematic and continuous learning and help acquire competencies to cope with the knowledge age”. The students are trained to be strongly rooted while having the wings to fly high and explore; this is facilitated by a diligent string of activities related to the local events and festivities.
Campus
The school campus has been designed with an environment friendly and functional approach. The school hosts modern classrooms with audio visual aids to help in the teaching-learning process.
The school also hosts an amphitheatre where daily assembly and other events are conducted, a basket ball court, and playgrounds for various sports and games.
Academics
The school is affiliated with CBSE and follows an innovative yet practical approach to the world of studies, work and life. The students' performance is assessed on a continuous basis and parents are advised accordingly. Question papers are theme based which makes children 'connect' ideas and answers. CRL (Cumulative Record of Learning) in form of detailed observations and suggestions are helpful for parents and children to improve performance.
Extracurricular:
Various activities such as squash, tennis, basketball, table tennis, dance, music, theatre, yoga, visual thinking and sculpturing etc are offered to ensure the holistic development of the students.
Admission
For admission to pre-school (GEM+ - GEAR Montessori Plus)the school does not conduct admission test. Seats are allotted on 'first come first served' basis. Parents are asked to register the child's name for an interaction with the Principal. The preferred age for admission is 2.5 years for kindergarten.
Fees: The annual school fee ranges from Rs. 65,000 to Rs. 75,000
