Overview
Founded in 1982, Fravashi International Academy (FIA) is a co-educational English medium international residential school run by the RS Luth Education Trust in Nashik. Fravashi Academy is the first ISO 9001-2000 certified school for its quality management system in North Maharashtra. The school’s mission is to provide each student holistic education in a safe, supportive environment.
Campus
The 3 acre school campus houses the school office, uniform and stationary rooms and separate offices for the chairman, vice chairperson and the PROs; the academic block houses more than 150 classes from prep to grade XII, separate computer labs, library, audio visual rooms, activity rooms, dance/drama rooms, map rooms, music room, teacher resource room and 6 Science labs.
Sports facilities comprise a fully equipped gymnasium, three badminton courts, two squash courts, table tennis halls, a boxing ring, billiard and snooker room, swimming pool, space for board games such as carom, chess and scrabble.
Accomodation
FIA hosts spacious and well-ventilated separate dormitories for boys and girls within the residential complex.
Academics
Affiliated with the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), UK, FIA offers schooling from kindergarten through grade XII. The curriculum is grouped as follows: -
1. CIE curriculum (Cambridge International Examinations Curriculum): This curriculum is grouped into following programmes -
A. Cambridge International Primary Programme - The CIPP from University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) develops English, Mathematics and Science skills in young children across the world.
B. Cambridge Checkpoint - The Checkpoint framework covers the early and middle years of secondary education.
C. Cambridge IGCSE: The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is designed for 14-16 years old.
2. Cambridge ESOL: FIA offers the Cambridge Young Learners English tests (YLE) and the Cambridge Main Suite Examinations.
3. Waterford: Waterford aims to give every child the best education possible by fusing technology and education.
Extra-curricular activities
The school promotes co-curricular and extracurricular activities such as art, craft, needlework, cooking, photography, public speaking and presentation, music, dance, hockey, football, volleyball, basketball, lawn tennis, throw ball and swimming.
Admission
Parents seeking admission for their children need to fill up an enquiry form, following which they are invited for a detailed information session at the school. The session covers all aspects of the curriculum and facilities offered at the school campus. Candidates for admission to higher classes might be required to write an entrance test in a few subjects.
