Overview
Delhi Public School (DPS), Rohini, was promoted in 1995 under the aegis of the Delhi Public School Society. It started with 250 students and 8 teachers in the borrowed premises of DPS Mathura Road, and got its own building in 2000. Today DPS Rohini is a proud member of the prestigious DPS Society which has created an admirable global network with over 130 schools around the world.
DPS Rohini is a senior secondary public school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and boasts a healthy teacher student ratio of 1:20.
Campus
DPS Rohini started with 250 students and 8 teachers in the borrowed premises of DPS Mathura Road, and got its own building in 2000. The school campus hosts IT enabled classrooms, fully equipped modern laboratories for physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, math and computer. The campus also houses separate rooms for music, dance and art and two libraries – one each for the junior and senior sections; junior section features 5000 books on various subjects and senior section features 15,000 books. Medical facility includes an infirmary with a full time doctor and a nurse.
Academics
The school is affiliated with CBSE and offers classes from nursery to class XII. At the senior secondary level, it offers science, commerce and humanities streams. Subjects like computer education, languages like French, German and Japanese are offered with the regular subjects. The school has bagged awards in several national events like National Talent Search Examination, Smart Kid GK Olympiad, International Mathematics Olympiad as well as board examinations.
Extracurricular: DPS Rohini offers a wide range of sports and co-curricular activities such as hockey, cricket, skating, Taekwondo, debating, classical dance, music and rangoli making.
