Overview
The Coorg Public School (COPS), Gonikoppal, situated in the Kodagu district of Karnataka, was promoted in 1996 by Professor M.D. Nanjunda, a brilliant academician, who was conferred the National Award 2005 by the then President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam in recognition of his outstanding contribution in the field of education.It is a co-educational, non-sectarian, residential school, established with the motto “In Pursuit of Excellence”. Today, it attracts students from all over the country and abroad. The school aims to “Infuse ethical values in the learning process and mould students with wisdom and knowledge that transcends all religious barriers.”
Campus
Coorg Public School boasts spacious classroom, large playground, well stocked library and an audio visual room equipped with home-theatre, LCD and over–head projectors. Other facilities include a dining hall which provides students with wholesome, nutritious and well balanced food, cooked in hygienic conditions, and transport facilities for day boarders. Medical facilities include an infirmary with a professionally trained nurse and a matron who resides in the hostel to cater to the immediate needs of children. Major health problems are referred to specialists, available locally.

COPS boasts aesthetically designed hostel buildings, housing self-sufficient and spacious rooms with attached bathrooms. Round the clock security and power supply, hot water supply, state-of-the-art laundry and salon services and 24/7 medical care, form part of the boarding facility offerings.
Academics
The school is affiliated to Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi upto class X (ICSE) and to the Karnataka State Pre-University Board for the higher secondary curriculum. The medium of instruction is English.
In line with the ICSE curriculum, the school offers English as first language and Kannada, Hindi or French as second language. Other subjects taught are mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, history & civics, geography and physical education / applied art / computer applications.
At pre-university (PUC) level, students can opt for either science or commerce stream.
The school academic year runs from June to April.

COPS encourages students to participate in sports such as football, hockey, cricket, basketball, volleyball, throw ball and badminton, apart from indoor games like carrom, chess, table tennis, etc. The school also organizes a cricket coaching camp and a swimming camp in the month of April every year.
Admission
The prospectus and the application form may be obtained from the school admissions office against a payment of Rs. 300 or by sending a DD for Rs. 300/ - drawn in favor of ‘Coorg Public School, Gonikoppal,’ Canara Bank, Karnataka Bank or Vijaya Bank payable at Gonikoppal. The registration/application form can also be downloaded from the school website.
Parents may register in advance for admission. Such parents will be on the mailing list of the school and will receive all relevant communication from the school.
Every parent seeking admission for his/her child should produce original copies of the following documents:
Transfer Certificate from the previous school, counter signed by the education officer.
Marks card of the last examination from the previous school.
Conduct certificate from the previous school.
Recent Passport size photographs – 10.
Caste certificate, birth certificate (original) for admission to classI.
Eligibility certificate and migration certificate: only for ICSE, CBSE, NRI and foreign students seeking admission for PUC.
Fees:
The composite annual fee for classes I-IV Rs. 45,000 and admission fee is Rs. 10,000.
The composite annual fee for classes V-X is Rs. 55,000 and admission fee is Rs. 10,000 / -.
