Overview
Chitkara University was set up in 2010 by the Punjab State Legislature under “The Chitkara University Act”. Ranked among the top universities in Punjab, Chitkara University, Chandigarh is a government-recognised university with the right to confer degrees as per the Sections 2(f) and 22(1) of the UGC Act, 1956.
The university campus is located almost equidistant from Mohali, Patiala, Chandigarh, Ambala and Panchkula, making it easily accessible. It boasts exchange programmes with several well renowned foreign universitites. The university has at the centre of its philosophical core the commitment to ‘excellence in education’ and is considered among the top universitites in North India.
Campus
The campus is located close to Chandigarh, making it easily accessible from other parts of the country. Chitkara University spacious campus hosts state of art the infrastructure. From theatre style classrooms, to high tech laboratories, huge seated auditoriums and big library halls, the campus hosts modern amenities to make life comfortable for the students. The campus also hosts cafeterias, ATMs, residential complex and medical facilities with tie ups with most of the renowned hospitals in the city.
Accomodation
Chitkara University provides comfortable stay to the students at the campus. The residential complex provides separate facilities for boys and girls with common rooms equipped with Wi-Fi and TV.

Admission
The admission procedure commences with submission of properly filled admission forms. This is followed by a counselling session; all the candidates are required to appear before the counselling committee on the date specified.
The seats for the various programmes are allotted based on merit-ranking of the student in the specified entrance test subject to fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria for the programme.
