Overview
Chinmaya Vidyalaya at Bokaro Steel City in Jharkhand was founded in 1977 by the Chinmaya Mission, a non-profit making charitable society with the motto “Keep Smiling”. This Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) affiliated school caters to students from nursery to class XII and aims to provide a holistic learning experience for them.
The school was established with the mission – “To provide to individuals from any background the wisdom of Vedanta and the practical means for spiritual growth and happiness, enabling them to become positive contributors to society”.
Campus
The school is sited on an 8 acre campus with modern amenities and infrastructure including large, airy and well lit classrooms, student activity centre, well equipped laboratories and extensive facilities for sports and cultural events.
The school hosts a well stocked library featuring reference materials and books on various disciplines, interactive CD's for computer based training, audio and video materials and a large number of journals and magazines.
Academics
Chinmaya Vidyala is affiliated with CBSE and implements an examination system proposed by the CBSE board. The performance of the students is continuously evaluated throughout the academic year and the results intimated to the parents on an ongoing basis. Both academic and non-academic performance is considered for promotion.
Extracurricular:
The school believes in promoting holistic development through extracurricular activities and sports. The school is divided into 4 houses that promote healthy competition and team spirit among the children.
Student clubs help to identify, nurture and recongize extracurricular talents such as music, dance, debating, elocution, quiz, dramatics, art etc. and self esteem is encouraged by participation in various intra and inter-school literary, cultural and sporting events.

The admission forms are available online in the month of October every year. The duly filled in form along with proof of age/date of birth needs to be submitted within the stipulated date.
