Overview
Children’s Nook was founded in 1984 by the JBCN Group. The curriculum is a blend of the Montessori, play way and gurkul teaching methodologies.
Children’s Nook uses a combination of theme based and integrated activities to develop the “whole” child. The preschool also encourages involvement from parents and the immediate family to enable children to receive a holistic learning experience.
According to a school spokesperson, Children’s Nook adheres to international preschool education standards and boasts an experienced team of teachers, psychiatrists and educationists who work together to develop a curriculum that is dynamic and relevant. “Through research, careful brainstorming and years of training, we equip our faculty to match the challenges of introducing concepts to every child in the class,” says the spokesperson.
Campus
The campus is child-friendly and contemporary. The play area consists of a vibrant kitchen corner, drama room, an art room, a puppet corner, computer lab and a diverse and well resourced library. The campus also has “touch and feel” sections and mirrors for “let’s play pretend” games. The walls are decorated with nursery rhymes designs and blackboard sections for children to scribble. The classrooms have creative backdrops to stimulate and motivate the child. The school also has a garden play area and a ball pool.
Academics
The preschool believes teaching children through play activities such as drama, storytelling and puzzles contributes to better understanding of the world around them. Music, yoga and gym activities are introduced at an early age to allow children to express themselves. The curriculum uses blocks and other Montessori equipment to aid motor development in children. Through field trips, special days and events such as annual day, project day, fun fairs and sports day, children develop socialising skills.
Children’s Nook offers the following programs:
Playgroup Program for children in the age group of 1.4 years to 2.5 years. Student teacher ratio is 07:01
Nursery Program for children in the age group of 2.6 years to 3.5 years with a student teacher ratio of 08:01
Junior KG Program for children in the age group of 3.6 - 4.5 years with a student teacher ratio of 10:01
