Overview

ITL Public School, Dwarka, New Delhi is a coeducational day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. Promoted by The Vasudeva Educational Society, the school was meticulously planned by leading educationists such as Shomie Das (former principal, Mayo College and Lawrence School Sanawar) and Padamshri Dr. R.S.Lugani (founder principal, DPS R.K.Puram). The school offers education from kindergarten to class XII.

Campus

The school campus hosts spacious corridors, spacious, well lit and air-conditioned classrooms, a well stocked library, an auditorium that can seat 265 people, labs for physics, chemistry, biology, math, computers and language, an AV room, music and dance room and a resource centre equipped with CD-ROM workstations, magazines, periodicals and reference books. The campus also houses an infirmary and a cafeteria.


The sports infrastructure includes a 200m athletics track, a football/hockey field, a semi Olympic size swimming pool, courts for tennis and badminton, table tennis, basketball courts and a skating rink.


The school has a SMS and e-mail facility to communicate important and urgent messages to parents.

Accomodation

Being a day school, ITL Public School does not offer accommodation facility.

Academics

The school follows the CBSE curriculum. At the primary level the school follows a multi faceted approach to develop competency and aptitude in students and stress is laid on language development through communication and grammar. Social and life sciences are taught through project based studies and mathematics and calculation skills are introduced. In the middle, secondary, senior secondary school level, the school follows CCE as per the CBSE guidelines to assess scholastic and co-scholastic areas. The academic year is divided in two terms and each term comprises two formative and one summative assessment.

 

Extracurricular:

The school hosts workshops, seminars, excursions and inter school competitions in various cultural and sporting activities. There are also clubs for electronics, art and craft, photography, theatre, music, dance- Indian and Western, general knowledge, environment, swimming, martial arts, and health and wellness.


The sports activities at ITL Public School include basketball, cricket, horse riding, skating, tennis, yoga, swimming, volleyball, football, table tennis, martial arts, chess, carom, athletics, kho-kho, kabaddi and aerobics.

 

Admission

Preschool is the entry level and the application forms are usually distributed and accepted from early to mid January. The age eligibility for admission into preschool is three years and above as on March 31 of the year in which admission is sought.


There are a total number of 108 seats in preschool of which 27 are reserved for economically weaker sections, 22 for management and 59 for general quota. Selection is done on the basis of draw of lots.


Admission to other classes are advertised in newspapers depending on the vacancies. Admissions close by July and registration forms can be downloaded from the school website. Registered children will be required to write an entrance test.

Achievements

The school has a special education program that caters to the needs of differently abled children and addresses individual differences in learning. This involves uniquely planned and systematically monitored arrangements for teaching procedures, adapted equipment and settings and other interventions to help the learning process.


The special educator prepares individualized educational programs along with parents, teachers and counselor for every child after observing his/her strengths and weaknesses.
