Overview
Founded in 2016, Billabong High International School (BHIS), Andheri is a co-educational English medium day school affiliated with Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), UK and Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi.
It was founded by Mr. Jitendra Dewoolkar and Mrs. Anita Dewoolkar with a mission to empower every individual to achieve their dreams and goals.
Campus
The 1.5 acre wi-fi enabled school campus hosts 25 classrooms (11 with smart boards), 3 well equipped laboratories, a well-stocked library which has a collection of more than 1500 books, newspapers and magazine such as National Geographic Magazine, Cobblestone, ASK Magazine, Discovery Magazine, Readers Digest, Sports Illustrated, National Geographic History Magazine and EducationWorld Magazine.
Other facilities provided by the school within campus are sports, internet/wifi, cafeteria, and medical.
Academics
Affiliated with CIE and CISCE, the school caters educational need to children from preschool to class VII.
BHIS follows an integrated curriculum designed by Ms. Lina Ashar till class IV. The pedagogies are an integration of Multiple intelligence, VARK, Bloom’s Taxonomy, Energy Neuroscience, Interdisciplinary approach and experiential learning.
The school maintains following teacher child ratio for different classes-
Preschool year I, II: 1:8
Preschool year III to class IV: 1: 12
Class V onwards: 1:24
Extra-curricular activities
BHIS encourages students to participate in various activities and sports such as football, cricket, basketball, capoeira, taekwondo, fencing, speech and drama and western dance.
Admission
Eligibility age for different classes:
Preschool - 2 years
Nursery - 3 years
Class I - 6 years
The school closes admission process by 1st week of March every year.
Fee- The fee structure inclusive of books, bag, tuition fees, admission fees, co-curricular activities, SPA, etc. ranges from Rs. 1,50,000/ - Rs. 2,70,000/- depending on the grade.
