Overview
Barnes School & Junior College, Devlali, Nashik is a coeducational day cum residential school affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi. Established in 1925 by Archdeacon George Barnes, the school is part of the Bombay Education Society which is the second oldest education society in the country. The school offers education from preschool through class XII.
The motto of Barnes School & Junior College, Devlali is Accepto Robore Surgam, meaning I shall arise with the strength I have received. The school’s mission is to help every student to be college and career ready by the time they graduate. The school aims to mould the students to be life-long learners, creative thinkers and responsible individuals.
Campus
The sprawling 265 acre school campus is sited against the majestic backdrop of the Sahyadris between the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force bases. The school hosts a well equipped library and media center; every classroom is equipped with a Smart Board. The school cafeteria serves a variety of food prepared under hygienic conditions; there is also 24-hour medical facility at separate infirmaries for boys and girls with qualified nurses on duty.
The school also hosts a huge playground with facilities for a wide range of outdoor and indoor games.
Accomodation
The school hostel includes separate buildings for junior boys, girls and senior boys. Children are housed age-wise in dormitories which are spacious and provide premium, student-friendly accommodation with recreation and TV facilities. Each student is provided with his/her own bed, cupboard, table and chair. All dormitories are provided with attached toilets and shower rooms.
The hostel offers 24-hour power supply and qualified counselors and is supervised by experienced matrons and house staff.
Academics
The school offers education from playschool to class XII and follows the ICSE curriculum. The class strength is limited to 35-40 children in each class. The school holds special coaching for IIT_JEE/ AIEEE / NEET / MHT-CET.
The extracurricular activities include fine arts, dramatics and music, children are rigorously encouraged to show case their talents. The school has various literary and community activities like dramatics, singing, debates, elocution and interact club.
Apart from academics the school has a wide range of sporting activities under professional supervisors.
Admission
Registration form can be downloaded or collected from the admissions office. Parents can contact the admission cell or the admissions coordinator Mr. Collin Massey. Seats are subject to availability. Applications for admission to hostel must be submitted between November and March in the year in which admission is sought.
The school usually completes its admission process before the end of March. However admissions are granted in the middle of the academic year if vacancies exist. The age eligibility for admission to each class is as follows.
Play School: 2.5 – 3.5 Years
Nursery: 3.5 – 4.5 Years
Prep: 4.5 – 5.5 Years
Class I: 5.5 – 6.5 Years
Class II: 6.5 – 7.5 Years
Class III: 7.5 – 8.5 Years
Class IV: 8.5 – 9.5 Years
Class V: 9.5 – 10.5 Years
Class VI: 10.5 – 11.5 years
Class VII: 11.5 – 12.5 years
Class VIII: 12.5 – 13.5 years
Class IX: 13.5 – 14.5 years
Class X: 14.5 – 15.5 years
Class XI: 15.5 – 16.5 years
Class XII: 16.5 – 17.5 years

The total annual school fee including admission fee is as follows for day scholars:

INR 63,650 for classes IX and X (science stream)
